Watch_Dogs 2 Revealed

Set in the Francisco Bay Area, new protagonist Marcus is set to take on the tech world. The whole open world will be hack-able, unlike the first one where only certain individuals were hack-able.

“Marcus is much more expressive, both in his behavior and in his fighting style,” creative director Jonathan Morin said. “He’s going to feel completely different than Aiden. There’s a different flow to his approach.”

“We have a world that encourages you to explore the Bay Area, and it rewards you for meeting other people in the world, playing cooperatively, and completing quests to gain followers for DedSec,” Bélanger said. “We’re encouraging the world [building] team to push all of their ingredients farther.”

Watch_Dogs 2 will be released on November 15th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC

Far Cry: Primal Review

Far Cry: Primal | Xbox One | Ubisoft
Far Cry: Primal | Xbox One | Ubisoft

Far Cry: Primal is a prime example of how good a game can be with a simple change of scenery. Sure Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 were great games, but they were very familiar with each other, as in the scenery and time table were very familiar. Primal opened up a whole new world to gamers and we LOVE IT!

It’s 10,000 BC, and our protagonist Takkar is searching for the lost members of his Wenja tribe. They’re scattered across the Oros Valley, a vibrant wilderness of forests, swamps, and frozen caves, complete with mammoths, snakes, Rhinos, and sabertooth tigers. As Takkar, you’ll build up a new Wenja village with a wide variety of characters. The progression of the game is set up perfectly because as you level yourself up, and enhance your skills you venture into the wilderness and find people that can help expand your camp and your skills.

If you have played the last couple Far Cry games you are pretty familiar with how hunting for animals will be crucial along with other things among the forest to help enhance your weapons and build new ones. The animal skins and hides will also be used to level up your camp as well, which you will need to build more huts, especially as your camp grows.

Unlike the other Far Cry games, the world of Primal is even more dangerous than finding your enemies. Sure you will have enemy camps that you will have to capture, weapons to find and unlock and skills to enhance, but it is the world of Primal that sets itself a part and becomes a challenge for gamers more so than past iterations. The world is dangerous and anything and everything can hurt you badly to kill you. Getting caught in the grips of a fast cougar, or getting poisoned by a snake you backed into while fighting off enemies are just some of the examples of what could happen to you. Have you seen the Oscar winning film “The Revanant”? Remember the bear attack? PRIMAL!

This is a game that will make you keep your bag you cary with you full. Stay stocked up on your meats for you to use for health because it will become a necessity, especially at night. The games finer points comes with its Beast Master ability. This will allow you to level up and the higher you rank the stronger the animal you can control. You can go from a wolf, to a sabertooth Tiger, and I will go on as to say that this is VERY VERY helpful, but be sure to watch your beasts health. Keep him fed and he will fight VERY WELL for you, and YES you will need them!

Far Cry Primal is the breath of fresh air that we needed in the franchise. I didnt want another trip to a remote island that a bad guy happens to be in charge of where crime and corruption are running rampant. Primal took us back to 10,000 BC and we get to step into the shoes of ancient civilization. You will be introduced to a very interesting cast of characters and are a welcome addition to the franchise! There is no online multiplayer to this entry, which is ok because I think it would take away from the self survival aspect the game was going for!

My Issues with Rainbow Six Siege

111276bI am sure that if you are one of the thousands of online gamers in the community trying to play Rainbow Six Siege (we are playing on Xbox One) then you are having a lot of issues connecting to the servers for online play. Since the game launched I have had nothing but connectivity issues. From connecting to the game servers, to getting kicked from games randomly in the middle of gameplay.

Now I know this is not a connectivity issue on our end, but rather an issue on Ubisofts end (mostly because the error message says unable to connect to Ubisoft Servers). This is such a major disappointment for a series that prides itself on its online multiplayer. Now we have not reviewed this game, and for good reason. If we reviewed it right now I would score well below an average score. Not because the game is horrible, but rather there are a lot of bugs and online connection issues. We know it could Funny-angry-babyscore much better if they can fix the online issues, but until then we are keeping this on the shelf.

If you are, or have gotten Rainbow Six Siege, we do try and play every night, have even tried on our live feed Twitch channel, just have had a lot of issues connecting. When we do connect and get playing it does pretty well, and it is fun. Please, for the love of everything holy, if you have a MIC, TALK TO YOUR TEAMATES! This is a game that is based on communication and when your in a game and only 2 out of 5 team members are communicating, it can make for a very frustrating night! TALK! ENGLISH MF . . . DO YOU SPEAK IT? If you don’t catch the movie reference shame on you! Just leave your party chat and jump into game chat so everyone can communicate!

A nuclear terrorist attack occurs in Saudi Arabia in 2016, killing six million people and crippling the supply of oil from the Middle East, plunging the world into an unprecedented energy crisis. The following year, the United States and the European Union sign the historic SLAMS (Space-Land-Air Missile Shield) Treaty, agreeing to co-develop technologies for a comprehensive, interlocking anti-ballistic missile system. The U.S. and EU test-launch nuclear salvos against each other, which the SLAMS weapons completely destroy. Emboldened by the success of the tests, the U.S. and the EU pronounce “the end of strategic nuclear warfare,” and the world celebrates a new age of peace.

The game takes place on the Korean Peninsula, with slight variations between platforms. The GameCube and PS2 campaign occurs in 2007, while the Xbox campaign is set in 2011. In 1945, two high-ranking members of the Nazi-sponsored Ustaše regime in the puppet Independent State of Croatia manage to escape the country with vast amounts of Croatian Holocaust-era loot, just before Allied troops move into Zagreb and Belgrade with the help of Partisan troops. Croatia ceases to exist as an independent state, and a new Yugoslavia is created by the Partisans. The two former Croatian officials are nowhere to be found.

Sixty years later, in 2005, elite multinational counter-terrorism task-force Rainbow finds itself investigating a series of attacks by neo-fascist terrorists against South American oil interests and European financial institutions. The squadron is enlisted to ascertain their location and find out who is ultimately behind these incidents.

200333b7. Tom Clancy’s Splinter: Conviction

The events of the main game take place three years after that of Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Former Navy SEAL Victor Coste (Howard Siegel) is being interrogated by a PMC called Black Arrow, and recounts the events of Conviction in the past tense.

Sam Fisher (Michael Ironside) is investigating in Valletta, Malta regarding rumors that the hit-and-run death of his daughter, Sarah might not have been accidental. As he investigates, Anna “Grim” Grímsdóttir (Claudia Besso), Sam’s former colleague, contacts him and warns him of the imminent attack by a group of hitmen. Sam kills them, and goes after their contractor, Andriy Kobin, a drug runner who was responsible for Sarah’s death. He infiltrates Kobin’s mansion, kills Kobin’s guards and interrogates Kobin, but Sam is captured by a Third Echelon Splinter Cell team before being able to extract anything useful.

D005531b6. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

Captain Scott Mitchell commands the fictitious elite Ghost Recon team in an attempt to protect the Presidents of the U.S. and Mexico, recover stolen U.S. technology, and battle the rebellious Mexican forces. Written by Gérard Lehiany, the story unfolds entirely in a realistic and detailed modeling of Mexico City, one of the world’s largest cities. It is this size that allows Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter to provide multiple locations like in previous Ghost Recon games, ranging from heavily industrialized areas to local parks and landmarks to office districts.

tom-clancys-rainbow-six-usa5. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six

Rainbow Six describes Rainbow as an international counter-terrorism operation hosted by NATO and funded by money funneled through the U.S. Department of the Interior.

The base of operations for Rainbow is located in Hereford, England (at the time, home to the SAS), due to the United Kingdom being one of the most accessible countries in the world and having one of the world’s foremost special forces units. Most of the characters in Rainbow are American or British, though the NATO countries of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, and the NATO ally of Israel have at least one representative each.

D005250b4. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell

Infiltrate terrorists’ positions, acquire critical intelligence by any means necessary, execute with extreme prejudice, and exit without a trace! You are Sam Fisher, a highly trained secret operative of the NSA’s secret arm: Third Echelon. The world balance is in your hands, as cyber terrorism and international tensions are about to explode into WWIII.

281180b3. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

In June 2007, tensions are running high between China, North Korea, South Korea and Japan, due to Japan’s formation of an Information Self Defense Force (I-SDF). Considering this to be a violation of Article 9 of the post-World War II Constitution, and blaming the I-SDF for information warfare attacks against their countries, Chinese and North Korean forces establish a blockade in the Yellow Sea against Japanese shipping. Because Japan is an ally of the United States, and thus the NSA‘s Third Echelon, the U.S. Navy dispatches a highly advanced warship, the USS Clarence E. Walsh (CG-80), to the Yellow Sea with the hopes that China and North Korea will back down at its presence.

200172b2. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas

In the year 2010, Rainbow operatives Logan Keller (Andrew Pifko), Gabriel Nowak (Thomas Michael) and Kan Akahashi (Dennis Akayama) are on a mission in a Mexican border town, assisted by intelligence officer Joanna Torres (Athena Karkanis) and pilot Brody Lukin (Andrew Pifko). Their objective is to arrest Irena Morales (Amanda Martinez), a terrorist ringleader. As the team reaches its landing zone in a helicopter, Logan fast-ropes down first but is separated from his group.

Logan fights his way through the terrorist-infested streets and meets up with Gabriel and Kan at an old Spanish church. After infiltrating a train yard and freeing a group of hostages, Rainbow eventually makes their way to a mine where Irena is hiding. However, after a surprise attack, Irena escapes and Gabriel and Kan are captured by terrorists.

280841b1.Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow

In early 2006, the United States has established a military presence in the newly-independent country of East Timor to train the East Timorese military in their fight against anti-separatist Indonesian guerrilla militias. Foremost among these militias is the Darah Dan Doa (English: Blood and Prayer), led by the charismatic Suhadi Sadono.

Sadono, once trained by the CIA to help fight communism in the region, has grown resentful of American support of East Timor and its supposed interference with Indonesian sovereignty. Sadono orchestrates a suicide bombing and follow-up attack on the U.S. Embassy in Dili, capturing a number of U.S. military and diplomatic personnel including Douglas Shetland, an old friend and comrade of Sam Fisher.

Assassins Creed: Syndicate Review

Assassins Creed: Syndicate PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC
Assassins Creed: Syndicate
PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC

Assassins Creed has been one of those titles that has been a “Love-Hate” relationship with me. The First game I thought was very bland and lacked substance, but with the return of the franchise and the introduction of Ezio, I was hooked. There have been bumps in the road along with way to “Syndicate” (“Assassins Creed 3” , and “Unity”) but the franchise seems to have gotten back on track. Notably the development team removed any and all multiplayer from the game. A choice that I think many fans of the franchise will applaud at. Many of those resources have been pushed to backdrop, and overall feel of London in the late 1800’s.

You play as twins Evie and Jacob Frye. Evie is a devoted assassins who’s main goal is to stop the Templars by finding the remaining pieces of Eden, while Jacob is a brutish reformer who seems to do everything he can against the Assassins Code of Arms. He is outgoing and seems to find himself in tight spots often. The sibling rivalry plays a good story as you can interchange between both characters as often as you like. Sure there are some story plots that can only be playable with a specific character, but you can complete any of the side missions, or character events with either one of the two. They will share XP, money, and items, however they each will have their own set of skills. Jacob will take the lead on many of the main assassin missions, but Syndicate is more about liberating London from the gang oppressors.

Throughout the game your fighting to take back the city of London, and little bit by little bit you liberate different parts. You can recruit new members to a group you call “The Rooks” to your aid, and if used correctly can come in handy when trying to take down gang strongholds.

I was a little let down in their skill variations. Jacob is supposed to be more combo heavy while Evie is more stealthy, however their skills are not tailored that way. Beside the obvious stealth and combo slots, the other skill tree’s are the exact same. The combo’s are a bit repetitive and become problematic at times, but are fluid in animation.

The London landscape is breathtaking, which leaves Syndicate as one of the better installments since Italy. Sure the team has to nip and tuck various landmarks to bring them closer together, but they are all there. You can explore them, and get a birds eye view of the industrialized city of 1868 London. The game does a good job of introducing characters that make the game amusing and entertaining. Going from tracking down hallucinogenic orchids for Charles Darwin, to doing secret missions for Charles Dickens, this game has a little bit of everything.

There is a lot to enjoy about this game. Does the franchise need a break? Sure it does, but they did turn out a very entertaining game. The choice to ditch multiplayer all together was a very smart move and one that, I believe, made the game better. There was no need for it and would have made the game feel loose. Syndicate is a very good game with a lot to enjoy, and the rivalry between the twins is a breath of fresh air.
